Pianfei Compositi has created the Mock-Up of the driver’s cabin of the Lazio Region train which will be produced by Firema for the Rome-Lido di Ostia and Rome-Viterbo railway networks.
The Mock-Up reproduces in real scale the external shell of the head car and simulates the internal furnishings of the driving cab with the control desk and all the related equipment for an exhaustive ergonomic verification of spaces and operations in service.
All the technologies available in Pianfei were used to anticipate internal and external shapes and functions which will then be created by Firema in the mass production of the trains, from the fiberglass stratification of the external body then finished with glossy enamel painting up to the use of materials composites for on-board instrumentation and the reproduction of every detail through the use of additive 3D molding technology. Every single detail has been reproduced with extreme accuracy in the required shapes and colors as per the 3D project provided by the client.
The Mock-Up replicates with absolute realism external components such as the rostrum, the buffers, the rear-view mirrors, the boarding doors, as well as the internal ones such as the control desk and related instruments, the windshield, the sun blinds and the safety devices as video camera and fire prevention systems.
Firema is one of the most important Italian companies in the railway industry. Founded in Caserta, Firema boasts a long industrial history of over 90 years in the design and production of railway vehicles.
